A Deeper Meaning to Worship

Who do you worship? Jesus? Allah? One of the many gods of Hinduism? Or no one? Well, according to Wallace "There is no such thing as not worshiping. Everybody worships" and I completely agree. I believe in today’s society many people worship money. People have gone to extremes to gain money. For example, some people engage in illegal activities, while some are willing to deceive loved ones. Many people are never fully satisfied with the amount of money they have; they are constantly in need of more and more. Believe it or not, many people actually value money more than other aspects of their lives. I’ve heard some stories in which people sold off their own children for money. I just think that’s crazy! How can anyone have the heart to do that? Even though it’s heartbreaking, I realize they did it because they greatly worship money. Money isn’t the only thing people worship. Look at Troy High, where everyone is in constant competition over grades. I, for instance, check my grades almost three to four times a day. Why? Because I personally worship grades, just as the majority of Troy High students. Many students think grades are the most important things to them, since it is what determines whether or not they'll be able to attend their dream college. Students devalue education and are only focused on the grade itself. It has come to the point where grades are more significant than the learning experience.
